Fixed spread lifting beams

Fixed spread lifting beam<br />The beam has two upper hinges. The central lifting eye is used for hanging on a simple crane hook. Suspension on a double-chain sling is used to increase the stability of the beam when transporting long loads.

Fixed spread lifting beams are produced in standard designs, or they are custom-made according to individual customer requirements for the transport of loads, which cannot be transported directly by means of slings due to length or shape.

Lifting beam consist of three basic parts - upper hinge, beam support profile and lower hinges. The overall technical solution corresponds to the weight, length and shape of the loads to be manipulated by the lifting beam.

The upper hinge is always adapted to the crane hook on which the lifting beam is suspended. If the lifting beam is intended to be used on a larger number of cranes with different types or sizes of hooks, it is necessary to adapt the upper hinge for all hooks. Long crossbeams are hung on the crane hook by means of a double-span chain tie to increase stability and reduce stress on the crossbeam profile.

The lifting beam can also be hung on two hooks at a certain distance. This is the case especially with crane equipped with 2 hoists. The advantage of this suspension method is the high stability of the lifting beam. The second case is the use of the lifting beam for connection of two cranes.

Fixed spread lifting beams are characterized by a fixed distance of the lower hinges.

The number and design of the lower hinges correspond to the method of hanging loads and also to the type of slings that will be used for gripping the load (chain, rope or textile trusses). The lower hinges can be fitted with a swinging hook, swivel hook or shackle. The lower hinges can also be formed by side welding hooks.
