Pipe lifting is often done by slings. Attachment and detachment of the slings is done manually. Attaching one pipe on ground level is no problem, but pipes are often stacked in a pyramid form up to several meters high. To attach and detach the slings, someone has to climb the stack of pipes. A very dangerous situation with great risk to life and limb! All Aerolift pipe handling equipment is designed to rule out this risk.
Most Aerolift lifting solutions are based on vacuum. We believe vacuum handling is the best lifting methods there is, due to the many advantages compared to other lifting methods. One of those advantages being, nobody needs to be near the pipes in any part of the handling process. Ruling out the risk to life and limb! But besides this reason there are many more reasons to opt for a vacuum pipe lifter:

Depending on the requirements, we are able to design vacuum pipe lifters to handle one, two, three or even four pipes at ones. By turning off a suction pad you can also handle three pipes with a vacuum pipe lifter which is designed to lift four pipes. All according to the customer’s desires and the situation.
Coated pipes are not always suited to be lifted by a vacuum pipe lifter. It all depends on the kind of coating and if this coating is airtight. Specially for coated pipes which can’t be lifted by vacuum technology, we design mechanical lifting devices. The lifting devices are specially designed to offer the same sort of advantages as a vacuum pipe lifter. For example, the clamping force of the spreader bar is automatically activated after the pipe lifting device positions itself above the coated pipes. All controlled by the crane operator from a save distance from inside the crane cabin. Besides no one near the pipes during handling, the mechanical lifting device also offers other advantages such as easy and fast handling, safety, increased productivity, lower investment and no damage to the load.
